We are passionate about bees, beekeeping and really good honey. Our range includes award-winning summer honey, seasonal varieties and speciality honeys, all carefully selected and jarred by us.
You can buy our honey online, directly from us at local markets, or from a growing number of independent shops, bakeries and cafés across Plymouth.
Whether you love a classic runny honey, something rich and distinctive, or a beautifully smooth soft set honey, there’s plenty to choose from.
Our range includes Summer Honey, Heather Honey, Soft Set Honey and other seasonal varieties, with availability changing throughout the year.
Honey is a wonderfully seasonal product. Its flavour, colour and aroma can vary depending on the flowers and plants the bees have been foraging on, which is part of what makes every harvest so interesting.

Black Dog Honey Bees is run by Mark and Olga, local Plymouth beekeepers with a genuine passion for bees and sharing beekeeping with others.
Alongside producing and selling honey and beeswax products, our work includes beekeeping, swarm collection, educational talks, beekeeping experiences and supporting the wider local beekeeping community.
For us, it’s about much more than selling jars of honey. We love meeting customers, talking about where honey comes from and helping people understand the extraordinary work happening inside a beehive.

We’re incredibly proud that our honey has been recognised by winning GOLD Taste of the West 2026, but the best feedback is still hearing from customers who come back for another jar.
Our honey is kept as simple as possible. It is raw, unpasteurised and minimally processed, allowing the individual characteristics of each honey to shine through.
Different batches can naturally vary in colour, flavour, aroma and texture – exactly as real honey should.
